Rising from the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, a mobile pet grooming salon is making people’s lives easier thanks to services offered by owner/operator Joyce Rome.

Wiggle Buttz Pet Services opened in September and has been growing ever since.

“It is going fantastic,” said Joyce, while tending to a dog outside the owner’s home in Cambridge.”

“We are getting a lot more new clients and there has been a lot of referrals, so it’s really taking off. I have met some of the best people. You know, when you think things are going crazy with the world and then you have the clients like I have, it’s amazing.”

The self-contained, fully-operational salon eliminates the need to cage pets and then transport them to a destination to be groomed.

“My husband, Frank, and I saw an advertisement for mobile pet grooming services during the COVID epidemic in 2020 and thought this is something our area could utilize,” Joyce said on her webpage of the inspiration for Wiggle Buttz Pet Services.

Joyce attended grooming classes in Canton prior to starting the new business.

“Just my own before last year,” said Joyce when asked about her grooming experience prior to her current work. “I’ve had dogs my whole life and I’ve owned horses.”

Her own dogs were another inspiration for the salon.

“We also have three fur babies,” said Joyce, who, along with Frank, has four children four grandchildren. “Our fur babies are a big part of our decision to start this service.”

Wiggle Buttz focuses on the health and safety of the pets, as if they were their own.

“We are dedicated pet owners who understand how stressful these occurrences can be, not only on your pet but on you as well,” said Joyce. “We will come right to your door to get your fur baby.”

Full grooming services include a bathing beauty luxury bath, blow out, hair cut, nails trimmed, ears cleaned, a coat conditioner and a spritz of cologne.

Wiggle Buttz also offers optional additions that could include dematting and deshedding services, flea and tick shampoo, nail painting, nail rounding and teeth brushing.

Wiggle Buttz Pet Services typically operates within a 40-mile radius of Cambridge to include Kimbolton, Byesville, Pleasant City, New Concord, Buffalo and Old Washington, just to name a few.

“I just want to say, first of all, thank you to my clients,” said Joyce. “They are all such great people, and I want to thank them for giving me the opportunity to pamper their babies.”
