Many of Salem’s hotels and inns welcome guests traveling with pets. Please note that fees vary by location, and pet-friendly rooms are based on availability.
The Hampton Inn allows up to 2 pets per room, dogs and cats only and no more than combined weight of 75 lbs. There is a $75 pet fee per room per stay from one to five nights. After your own stay passes the five night mark the pet fee per room increases to $125 per night.

The Hawthorne Hotel welcomes well-behaved pets (up to two per room) to join owners in their designated pet-friendly rooms on the sixth floor, where they can enjoy a doggie room service menu and special amenities. An additional fee of $50 for each night will be applied to your room. Be sure to notify the Front Desk clerk if you will be traveling with a pet to ensure you are confirmed in one of the pet-friendly rooms. Only service animals are allowed in the hotel’s restaurants and function space. The Hawthorne Hotel is also conveniently located next to the Salem Common park, which is a great area to walk your four legged friends in the large green area.

Guests planning to camp in Salem can bring pets to Winter Island Park which is open from May 20 to November 1 .
Attractions & Tours
Well-behaved pets are able to join their humans on some of Salem’s walking tours including Bewitched After Dark Walking Tours , Black Cat Tours , Tours for Touring Tourists , Salem Haunts , and Spellbound Tours . Dogs can also learn about Salem’s history and get around town aboard the particular Salem Trolley and Mahi Cruises . We recommend calling ahead individually to each tour organization and attraction before you em-BARK on your journey to double check with them and their pet policies.

The New England Dog Biscuit Co. is a pet paradise and a must see for any pet lover visiting Salem, Massachusetts! Current owner Stefanie Kalinoski brings passion for animals and their owners to her work every day. There are a variety of treats and paraphernalia available for purchase for your favorite furry friends. With grooming products, leashes, toys, treats and so much more with regard to both cats and dogs, your pets are sure to leave with wagging tails and smiles on their faces.

Local restaurants with outdoor dining spaces may allow pets to join their particular guests on patios. Flying Saucer Pizza Company , Gulu-Gulu Café , and Village Tavern , all welcome animals in their patio dining areas. Village Tavern can also provide a puppy-friendly menu and beef-infused water. And, East Regiment Beer Company, and Salem’s Retreat welcome dogs on the patios.
If you are looking for a centrally located spot for you and your pets to stop by head over to Rockafellas . You can have a great meal and drink while your pet snacks on some dog treats or a pup cup provided by Rockafellas gracious and friendly staff. If you are lucky your pooch might even be featured on their weekly Patio Pooch social media campaign!

Some favorite canine walking spots in Salem include Derby Wharf, Forest River Park, Salem Common, Salem Willows, and Winter season Island Park. Remember to obey local leash laws plus pick up after your pet while going for walks. Be sure to bring your pet’s proper identification and proof of Rabies vaccination while traveling, and follow posted regulations when walking along beaches.
