Boxing Day sales remain a popular way for shoppers to bag a bargain over the festive season as retailers up and down the high street slash prices. However this year some stores have decided to not open in order to give workers more time with their friends plus families.

Stores in North Wales at retail parks such as Broughton Park are almost guaranteed to be busy on December 26, with queues often seen at places like Next and Sports Direct, despite the increase in online shopping in recent years. Boxing Day is a bank holiday, meaning not all stores are open for as long as usual, so it’s worth checking opening times before you head out.

If you’ve got a particular store in mind that you want to visit, take a look through this guide to all the Boxing Day time closures we know so far, as some retailers are choosing to remain closed on the day. This includes some supermarkets – you can read more about that here.
