NORTH LIMA — Sheely’s Furniture plus Appliance finished another successful campaign to give back to the community they have called home for over 70 years. Throughout the fourth quarter of 2022, Sheely’s raised $14, 270 with regard to Angels for Animals, their second largest fundraiser to date. Sheely’s employees and community members cast votes in October, with Angels regarding Animals receiving the most.

This fundraising event driven by Sheely’s was held at both the Aurora and North Lima locations. Sheely’s employees were happy to contribute to this cause. As an added bonus, they were allowed to wear jeans on Fridays for their donation. Sheely’s provided matching funds for every donation received, and incentivized customers to donate by providing a $100 discount on qualifying purchases. “We were very pleased to raise funds intended for Angels for Animals for our quarterly fundraising drive, ” said owner Jessica Smith.

Angels for Animals was incorporated in 1990 as a place where dogs and cats could be spayed and neutered plus pet owners could meet with veterinarians. The public response was overwhelming, culminating in the construction of their 13, 500-square-foot West South Range Road facility. Their new Angel Wing is a center of hope for sick animals that need to recover before entering the shelter. The goal is to offer affordable pet care to allow everyone the opportunity to look after their animals. Currently, the Angel Wing offers veterinary help, grooming and end of life services along with cremation. Foremost in their thinking is to offer affordable pet care to allow everyone the opportunity to care for their own animals, and to eventually fill these needs 24 hours a day, seven day a week, 365 days a year.
