Pooch burgers, beer and a pawstries bar…you’d be barking mad to miss this – HerCanberra
The most im-paw-sibly cute doggie day out is back—and your four-legged friend better be excited for the launch of their very own burgers, beers and pawstries bar.
That’s right: A Pooch Affair is bringing all the four-legged fun with an unforgettable (or is that un-fur-gettable?) day out in Canberra this weekend.
Having started from humble bark-ginnings in 2015, A Pooch Affair has since seen more than 10,000 dogs enjoy a truly memorable day with their human.
Known for their annual theme, forget calling your furry friend the goodest doggo in town—this year will have you saying ‘Good one, old sport’, as A Pooch Affair lets the dogs out to make the Roaring ’20s grr-eat again.
Encouraging pets and owners to break out their best flapper fashion and walk the red carpet, there will be the chance to scoop coveted the Best Dressed award—as well as other prizes—and take place in themed photo opportunities throughout the day (did someone say pup-arazzi?).
Paw-ty goers will also have the chance to enjoy live music, The Doggie Retail Mall (which will be full of grooming, pet care, toys, food and treats, giftware, clothing, leads and collars, books, and much more), and a gameplay area filled with hundreds of coloured plastic balls, tunnels and play equipment for the dogs to enjoy.
Partnering with RSPCA ACT—who will be having a major raffle to raise funds—local animal rescue groups will also be there to help pooches find their forever home while Domestic Animal Services will be promoting responsible dog ownership.
But of course, the day wouldn’t be complete without foodie experiences for your furry friend. Think treats that look like mini burgers, hot dogs, pies, and even a doggie beer from Teacher’s Pet Treats!
Complete with a Doggie Diner with puppuchinos that are sure to get tails wagging, it will be the paw-fect day out for the whole family—furry or not.
Tickets are $10 per person, with funds raised supporting A Pooch Affair’s Charity Partner RSPCA ACT as well as local animal rescues and pet-related community groups and services.
