BLINK returns Oct. 13-16 and will once again expand into Northern Kentucky.

The BLINK art and light festival is back this fall, and it keeps getting bigger.

Officials have announced the event, held Oct. 13-16,     is expanding across the river and Northern Kentucky will once again be a part of the glowing festivities.

“In 2019, the extension into Northern Kentucky was a grand experiment to make BLINK a regional event, ” said Brendon Cull, president of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, during a press conference on July 12. “We are excited to build upon that connection through the support of MeetNKY, cities of Covington and Independence, and the region as a whole. ”

Since 2017, BLINK has illuminated the Cincinnati area with large-scale projection mapping, murals, interactive light sculptures, live entertainment and more.

An illuminated installation on Covington’s riverfront will join other light exhibits that extend from Roebling Point through downtown Covington.

“We are so excited to celebrate the particular cultural vibrancy and history of the region by bringing the world-class art experience to the streets of Covington, ” said Justin Brookhart, the executive director of BLINK, during the press conference. “We’ve begun working with some incredible partners in the region to light up their buildings as well as highlighting institutions doing important work in the city. ”

The four-day illuminated arts festival takes place across 30 blocks in downtown Cincinnati and Covington. BLINK festivities kick off on Oct. 13 with a glowing parade themed after  “Together: a constellation of shared cultures plus unique identities; we illuminate joy through creative expression. ”

The BLINK festival takes place April. 13-16. For more information, visit blinkcincinnati. com .
